One of the best strategies you can employ while learning a skill is setting yourself up for earning. If this is something you’d like to try, continue reading this short article.

I know learning is fun, and if you find yourself in tech, you are in for a lifelong learning engagement. So, in this article, I will share how you can set yourself to earn some cool dollars while you are learning.

You can apply this if you are just learning how to code, while you are looking for jobs, you have a way to earn.

It worked for me and a few others that I know, so if you apply it well, I believe it should work out for you, even if you are a beginner.

Technical Writing

What I am trying to say here is WRITE ARTICLES. Don’t just write articles, be strategic about it. I will share two methods that can you can follow.

  1. Write articles to share your learning process, progress and findings.
This method is a long-game strategy, which will open up more opportunities (full-time jobs, side gigs, etc.) For example, If you just started learning how to code in the Python programming language. You can write an article/series of articles to share your findings and code examples about Python’s particular topic. Don’t worry if you are a beginner; share your fresh POV as a beginner. What you are doing here is you are showing the world that you know the topic well because you understood the concept before sharing.
  2. Write paid technical articles.
This is for getting quick cash, if you can write two articles in a month, you can get avg. income of $400. You can even make a career out of it, or do this while you hunt for a full-time job. Here is a compilation of writers program that you can join
    - Technical Articles
    - Non-Technical Articles

Apply for Technical content creating jobs.

These jobs employ and pay you to develop technical content (Blog posts, Interview Questions, Sample Projects, Online Courses, etc.), serving as a full-time job or side-gig. You can find these kinds of jobs on popular job boards, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
But you get faster results on Freelancing platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork.

See an example of a job post on Upwork. So you do your search based on your skillset & interests.

Code Review & Mentorship

What you are doing here is reviewing codes, projects, etc. You provide detailed feedback, help others to debug code, and answer complex questions. It might be a bit difficult for beginners to navigate this space, and land opportunities but experienced guys can do this.

Here are the links to apply for some of these opportunities.

Run your own Tutorials

You can create your tutorials and turn them into online courses. It is an excellent way to learn, earn and share your knowledge. I made online courses for a couple of E-learning platforms, so you can send a message if you need some help here. Note that this method requires a lot of effort and patience if you work with your brand, but it is nice passive income if you can figure it out.
